McLaren Names Robert Melville as new chief designer
McLaren has named a new chief designer, Robert Melville. He will be tasked with leading a team that will create the future design language of McLaren as previewed with the McLaren P1. Melville is a graduate of the United Kingdom's Royal College of Arts in 2003 and became a part of McLaren in 2009.
In the past 5 years, Melville has been a senior designer on the styling of the P1, 650S and the Sports Series entry-level model, previously known as the P13.
Mclaren will unveil the Sports Series in the second quarter of 2015 and will continue to develop cheaper models to hike sales volume.
It will be exciting to see what new design ideas Melville can inject into the brand.
