McLaren Special Operations bringing customized 650S Spider to Pebble Beach

McLaren Special Operations are going to be bringing a unique 650S Spider to Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The unique 650S Spider was created by MSO in collaboration with McLaren Newport Beach and McLaren Automotive Design Director Frank Stephenson. It has a Cerulean Blue exterior with carbon fiber detailing on the front bumper, side air intakes and the rear bumper's central area and diffuser.

Inside, it has carbon black leather upholstery with contrasting blue stitching. There are also MSO-branded carbon fiber sill panels and satin lacquered carbon fiber inserts.

will these pieces end up being sold as accessory options later on, or perhaps a factory order option?

Mr.Big 08-12-2014 10:28 AM

I'm not sure if these parts will even go on sale. Perhaps you could buy them from McLaren Special Operations, but it seems like it is a one off thing. You'd probably have to ask if they can make you a one-off thing as well.

coming out with a number of special editions is something i think they should do, it would be great to see that happen from mclaren. people already really love their products, might as well expand on it.

I was just trying to answer your question...

Saw the blue car at Pebble Beach.. $450k MSRP, I believe.

Mr.Big 09-04-2014 04:53 PM

a nice chunk of change to be sure.

Cool that you made it to Pebble Beach. That might have been quite the car show. What was your favorite sighting?

Hands down, this personalized P1! ($1.3MM) $3500 to paint the rear P1 badge orange.. it adds up very quickly!

Mr.Big 09-08-2014 05:06 PM

Wow, that is quite the looker. Love the touches of orange and the pearl paint job is also awesome. How is it actually $3,500 to paint the badge orange!? That makes no sense.

I guess its pennies compared to the price of the car in the first place though.
