Mr.Big I just don't really understand why they even delayed the decision for as long as they did. They should have just said this from the beginning. Does this mean that McLaren will add a new model that is below the 650S to fill in that gap soon or are they just pushing more upmarket.

rwdftw yea that is what I figured too..

But what about pricing? Are they going to introduce a new 12c at that price range?

fastlane Finally, i thought it would be pointless to have the 12c and 650 selling side by side.

Mr.Big
McLaren decides to kill off the 12C

When the McLaren 650S first came out, McLaren told us that its predecessor the 12C would continue to be sold alongside it. Things change.

Quote:
Meanwhile, the final piece of news I wanted to share with you is regarding 12C production which we have decided to cease in light of the success of 650S. The new car has been so well received since its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show (we already have a six month order bank) we will focus all our capacity at the McLaren Production Centre on 650S.

After three years of 12C production, this represents a natural evolution of our model line-up. I want to assure you that McLaren remains dedicated to customer satisfaction and that we care about the ownership experience of every car we've ever sold.
I have to admit that this isn't the most surprising news. I always had an inkling that McLaren may make the 650S the full replacement for the 12C.

Are any of you guys disappointed or surprised by this news?
