Mr.Sullivan well Audi has dominated P1 for what, the last 20 years almost, its absurd. Toyota has a great program and Porsches program is nascent. I'd love to see Mclaren challenge for the overall victory but it might be a little much to ask of such a small company, I mean to field an F1 program and a WEC team is a HUGE chunk of their cashflow..

Mr.Big It will be good to see McLaren at Le Mans, but do you think they have any shot at actually winning the race? Is there a front runner right now?

Mr.Sullivan Ah I got semi hard at the thought they might be building a prototype and going for the over all GT I fully expect...

fastlane With the way things are going with them and these GT models it was bound to happen.

I really can't wait to see their cars in action at Le Mans.

McLaren Returning to Le Mans?

Looks like McLaren is considering return to Le Mans with a 650S GTE.

McLaren GT Project Manager Andrew Kirkaldy told Autosport, "I would be very surprised if you don't see a 650S running at Le Mans at some point and we hope to be there from 2016." He went on to say that the 650S GT3 is "not far from a GTE car in some aspects, like hubs, suspension and bigger wheels and tires -- it is a good step towards that."

McLaren hasn't officially confirmed the company's return to Le Mans, but Kirkaldy has suggested that they are waiting for the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and the FIA to finalize their new regulations before they will begin building the car.
