The New Era at McLaren Begins

As many of you sportsfans know the long standing Formula One relationship between McLaren and Mercedes will come to an end in precisely 10 days following the race in Abu Dhabi on the 23rd.

Just today McLaren offered us a glimpse into the future (well a glimpse into a glimpse), the Honda motivated McLaren MP4-29H will spin its tires for the first time tomorrow (November 14th) at Silverstone during filming day. Due to current in season testing bans the only way to give the new car a shakedown prior to sanctioned testing is through filming day fitting with demo Pirellis.

Its essentially a dog and pony show for the sake of shaking down and evaluating the synthesis of the electronic systems.

Some think that with a year on the sidelines observing and inside access to the Mercedes powerunit through McLaren, Honda may be able to instantly step in and compete for the constructors. Now the only question remaining is if we'll see a return of the red and white?
