fastlane With how close it looks to the 12C i wonder if people complain enough will they do a facelift to make it better, would they even do that?

Mr.Big I think that this looks really good, but I also agree that McLaren shouldn't make all of its vehicles look the same, so it probably won't happen. I think that it looks better with the coupe roof instead of the spyder version. The rear spoiler combined with the spyder seats is one too many ideas IMO.

Yup.

I think they should at least try to give every model it's own unique look, or unique enough. Best thing to do in my opinion. It's kind of like what Ferrari and Lamborghini have been doing with their designs

Mr.Sullivan its enough that the front ends are identical, I mean if this were to go down Mclaren would of fallen prey to the audi syndrome. Everything looks like EVERYTHING. Although I suppose you could have some image conscious 650 owners parading their "new" P1's around. Hows that for a return on investment ahahaaaa

fastlane As cool as this looks and as much as I love the idea, it will never happen. Im sure they want to keep the P1's design unique to that model to have that and a lot of it be exclusive to that single model.

Renderings show McLaren 650S as a P1

Here we have some renderings that show the McLaren 650S as a P1. Up front you can see that there is an extra pair of air intakes on the sides of the apron.

From the side view the side skirts get even bolder, and the wheel design is tweaked to resemble McLaren's hybrid hypercar. And then there is the awesome scoop in the hood.

The biggest difference can be seen at the back of the vehicle though. There you can see the huge diffuser, extra air outlets in the bumper, and a more substantial rear wing.

This is unlikely to become a reality, but that makes it all the more fun to imagine.
