fastlane Especially with the differences going on, the 650 is just better value for your money, it's not significantly than the 12c.

rwdftw seems logical

the 650 demand is probably much higher than the 12c at this point

fastlane I thought this was a good idea, at least it lets them put all their effort towards making the 650 the best it can be

McLaren halts 12C production to focus on 650S production

McLaren has decided to temporarily stop production of both the coupe and convertible variants of the MP4-12C in order to focus its resources on successfully launching the new 650S. This comes as a bit of a surprise because initially McLaren explained that the 650S would be sold alongside the MP4-12C as a more powerful alternative.

Quote:
"There's an element of customers wanting the newest and best," explained Richard Molyneux, McLaren's chief financial officer. "The 650S is partly a reaction to that, and our partly down to our own learning. There's no point learning lessons like the big OEMs and then waiting six years to put them on a new model," he added.
With the 650S coming out and this announced halt in the production of the 12C, do you think that the 12C will be slowly phased out, or will it remain an important part of the McLaren lineup?

Another thing that may signal the end of the 12C is the upcoming P13 entry-level model.
